It is recommended not to use printers without ink cartridges, as it can be deterrent to your printer. So, a cartridge needs to be replaced immediately the moment its ink is exhausted.

Generally, three types of ink cartridges can be found in the market. An OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) cartridge is the original ink cartridge that comes along with the printer at the time of purchase and is best suited for the printer. The other types of cartridges available are compatible cartridges and they are specially manufactured as per OEM specifications.
